General City Hall & Marina

The City Hall in Singapore is a national monument gazetted on 14 February 1992. Located in front of the historical Padang and next door to the Supreme Court of Singapore, it was designed and built by the architects of the municipal government, A. Gordans and F. D. Meadows in 1926 to 1929. A flight of stairs takes visitors from the Corinthian colonnade to the main building. The building was constructed to replace several houses designed by architect G.D. Coleman. It was first known as Municipal Building until 1951 when Singapore was granted city status by King George VI.

City Hall MRT Station

The City Hall MRT Station (EW13/NS25) is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station in Singapore, that is part of the North South Line and the East West Line in Singapore, and serves as an interchange station between the two lines.

It is located in the Downtown Core, which is within the Central Area, the central business district of Singapore. It is situated underground, beneath the junction of Stamford Road and North Bridge Road, and is thus east of the Singapore River. The commercial district of Raffles Place and the respective Raffles Place MRT Station is located across the River. The City Hall MRT Station is one of the more prominent and busier stations within Singapore's transport system, especially being an interchange station located within the Central Area.

On the ticket level of the station, it leads directly up to street level, with access by escalator, and has two exits, one leading up to North Bridge Road, and one leading to the Raffles City and to the adjacent Stamford Road. The underground Citylink Mall is also linked to the station, providing access to Suntec City, Marina Square and the Esplanade Theatres.

A proposal to link City Hall MRT station to Circle Line's Esplanade station has been mooted.

Marina Square

Marina Square is a shopping mall in Singapore which opened in the late 1980s. It is part of the first building complex built on the reclaimed land at Marina Centre, and was the largest shopping mall in the country at the time. The complex also houses three hotels, which are The Oriental Singapore, Marina Mandarin Singapore and the Pan Pacific Singapore.

In 2004, the mall started major renovation works which were completed in mid-2006. It now has 65,000 square metres (700,000 square feet) of retail space, which makes it one of Singapore's largest malls.

It used to house an outdoor food court until 2004 when renovation began. Anchor tenants include John Little, Golden Village, Superbowl,Crocs, Marina Food Loft, and Center Stage (which houses a few restaurants). The mall also includes the first Carl's Jr. in Singapore. It has a wide range of food and beverage outlets.
